Do you know where you will spend eternity?

Friend, do you know that you are a sinner.  The Bible says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).  None of us are exempted.  We have all broken God's commandments at one time or another, and we have fallen short of His demand for perfection.

We are simply incapable of attaining His standard, which is absolute perfection.  The Bible says that God is holy, which means without sin.  The Bible says that He is of purer eyes than to even behold sin.  Therefore, because we sin, we have come short of His glory, or His standard.

The Bible also declares that there is a penalty for sin.  In Romans 6:23a the Bible says that "the wages of sin is death".  Notice that the Bible uses the word "wages".  This means that the just payment of our sins is death.  It's something that we deserve because of who we are and what we do.

Death is the just reward for our sins.  Death means separation.  Because we sin we are all going to die physically.  None of us will miss our appointment with death.  Death in this case is separation from physical life, and we all must experience it.  The Bible says that "it is appointed unto man once to die, then after this the judgment".

But the Bible also speaks of a Second Death.  All that don't know the Lord will end up in the Lake of Fire.  Revelation 20:11-15 says "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;  and the books were opened and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.  This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

You see, friend, that the price is high, and that your eternal soul hangs in the balance.  The wonderful thing in all of this is the grace of God.  We don't have to spend eternity in the lake of fire.  God provided a way that we might escape.  John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  God's holiness demands justice, and that justice could never be satisfied by us, but God loved us so much that He provided himself a sacrifice for our sins.  Jesus Christ humbled himself, became a man, and suffered the brutal death of the cross all for you and me.  He bore your sin and my sin in His body.  The Word says that "He became sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

You might ask "What must I do to be saved?"  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No man cometh unto the Father but by me".  He also said  "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish".  You must simply repent(that is, turn from your sin), and believe.  Place your faith in the finished work of Christ.

What is stopping you from trusting Him today?  Your sin? Sin brings death.  Your wealth?  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter in to the kingdom of heaven.  "What profiteth a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul."

Trust Him Today!
